This book is
written to provide either new students of the Bible, teachers, or
preachers of the Word a quick reference tool. Its purpose and aim
is to help the reader understand the Bible, from Genesis through
Revelation. Each summary of the Bible’s sixty-six books
contains: a key Bible text in each book, a key term to summarize
the book, and a one-sentence summary showing how each book fits
with God’s story. It also suggests how each book contributes to
developing a Christian worldview. There is a summary relating to
the author’s purpose, the date and time of writing, its first
audience, and destination and the occasion for writing the book.
The
book is rich with full color photographs, maps, and charts. Some
of you will have or remember Halley’s Bible Handbook.
This is a similarly designed book. Understanding the Bible
is called a “quick reference to…” and it is just that. You
will find it to be a useful tool if you are a preacher, teacher,
or if you simply want to study the Bible yourself. It would also
be a good gift for a young person or adult to encourage them in
their Bible study
