In this busy
year of a major conference scheduled for September 15-17, 2006,
the Women's Advisory Sub-Committee is still focused and
committed to hosting the annual Leadership Training Conference
March 9-11. This CE&P training and resource event is key to our
purpose to equip PCA women to develop, strengthen and continue
in crafting a biblical approach to women's ministry in local
churches and through PresWIC events.
The 2006
Leadership Training Conference will build around the theme
"Content in the Context of Relationships.” Dr. Phillip Ryken,
Senior Pastor of Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia, PA,
will be our pastor and teacher.
The weekend
will be full of:
·
Regional
connections and fellowship.
·
Sharing of
ideas and resources.
·
Emphasis on
a covenantal approach to teaching women's Bible studies.
·
Denominational connectedness - prayer for and with the
Coordinators and Administrators of the PCA and the viewing of
the 2006 WIC Love Gift.
·
Seminars and
workshops that offer both philosophical and practical tools.
·
Introduction
of two key resources - Women's Ministry in the Church,
authored by Dr. Ligon Duncan and Mrs. Susan Hunt and an updated
Women's Ministry Resource and Training Guide.
This event
is designed around two main tracks for PresWIC leadership, local
Bible study leadership, Directors of Women's Ministries,
denominational staff women and local leadership women. Be
strategic in sending representation for the PresWIC and local
leadership track and the Bible study track. If you need further
encouragement, find the recent issues of the PCA Women's
Ministry Resource Quarterly, 2nd Quarter 2005 and let the words
of 2005 Leadership Training Conference participants value and
affirm this as an equipping Kingdom event for your local church
and presbytery.
