You
Can
Understand
The
Holy
Spirit
will
open
your
eyes
as
you
quietly
reflect
on
the
Scripture.
At
least
two
versions
can
alert
you
to
differences
among
translators
and
can
sometimes
help
you
grasp
the
point.
Asking
the
reporters
questions
will
cause
you
to
probe.
To
whom
is
this
addressed?
Who
are
the
people
mentioned?
What
are
the
circumstances?
When
did
this
take
place?
Where?
and
alwayswhy?
How
does
this
message
challenge
or
affirm
the
quality
of
my
relationshipswith
God,
others,
myself
and
my
world?
Such
questions
may
require
some
research.
Commentaries
and
study
Bibles
abound.
Word
study
helps
and
Bible
dictionaries
are
available.
But
before
you
hurry
to
the
experts,
work
at
it
yourself,
remembering
that
the
whole
Bible
either
looks
forward
to
what
Christ
will
do
or
back
on
what
He
has
done. Two
more
things: 1.
The
first
question
is
not
What
does
it
say
to
me?
Rather,
it
is
What
does
it
say?
Only
when
you
have
wrestled
with
that
are
you
ready
to
ask
the
Lord
to
help
you
apply
it
to
your
situation. 2.
Gods
purpose
is
not
that
we
get
some
intellectual
stimulation.
Rather,
it
is
that
we
hear
Him
and
respond
appropriately. Robert
