Meet CEP's new Youth and
Family Ministries Coordinator
Danny Mitchell
joined the CEP staff in June and
"hit the ground running" assuming responsibility for the YXL summer
youth
conference. Mitchell is already
connecting with youth pastors, volunteers, and students across the
denomination. “It is my hope to serve as both an encourager and
equipper to folks involved in youth ministry,” said Mitchell.

Youth
Ministry Management Tools, by
Olson, Elliot and Work,$40.00, (#5424).
If there was ever a book that spoke to defeating a
stereotype of a group of people this is one of them. This book deals
with helping youth workers become comfortable and efficient with the Big
“A” word, administrative stuff. It is written in a way that even
people who don’t read much (another stereotype of youth workers) can
work through it and be helped by it. It covers areas of organizing your
time and your office (not office/closet) to planning events and planning
out yearly budgets. It also includes sections on volunteers, insurance
and various forms that will definitely come in handy throughout the
youth ministry year. There is even a CD-Rom with the book that contains
close to 150 pages of forms to be used or tailored to meet your need.
This book is good for the young youth worker just starting out as well
as the veteran youth worker who is open to learning a thing or two or
three about administration and management from a youth ministry
perspective. Even above average administrative youth workers can use
this book, if only to help interns and volunteers under them. This is a
great resource book to have in the area of youth ministry
