Join with CEP in praying that renewed commitment to ministry among and by seniors will expand in our churches. Dr. George Fuller is available to conduct a training seminar in your area to this end.So, gather three (or more) people from each of several local churches to: 1. consider issues relating to senior life and ministry, 2. encourage ministry in local churches and communities and 3. emphasize ministry by seniors. They Will Still Bear Fruit in Old Age

Most books and articles about senior ministry focus on serving seniors and call us to help in meeting their needs. While this call is important and clear biblical imperatives call us to that ministry, most seniors do not have the pressing issues and disabilities that require mercy ministry. Few of our seniors are in nursing homes or severely disabled; and all of them, except perhaps those with advanced dementia, are capable of serving Jesus. What a great challenge and opportunity! All seniors must be challenged to honor the Lord in their lives and by their ministry. Some, perhaps many, indeed do so.

What About Liberation Theology?

In liberation theology, God is seen as the God of the oppressed – and therefore against the oppressors and their false god. Jesus is found in the movement for liberation and freedom. Jesus came as a liberator, and he identifies with those mobilized for liberation.

An Exhortation to Rejoice in Old Age

No one can ignore or remove the problems that old age brings. But Christians share God’s best in life, even in old age. Old age from a biblical perspective is life transformed, life renewed, life filled with blessings and opportunities.
