The Bulletin Supplement is a 5.5" x 8.5" insert, attractively designed to enhance your church bulletin. It is published monthly and is designed to keep PCA members informed and interested in what's happening in other PCA churches--because the more we know about each other's ministries, the stronger our common bond will be.

Please read excerpts from actual supplements below and then subscribe for your church today.  One hundred supplements each month cost on $78 / year.

BIBLES AND ORANGES. For several years, mission teams from Covenant Presbyterian Church in Auburn, Alabama, have traveled to Romania to give support to a Christian orphanage called Dorcas House. The girls in Dorcas House have now grown up and have expressed a desire to reach children in the desolate, state-run orphanages. In November 1999, Covenant’s mission team challenged the congregation to give Bibles as Christmas gifts to Romanian orphans and to send an orange with each one. Over two thousand dollars was donated for the project. The Bibles and oranges were shipped to Dorcas House and the girls delivered them to children in several government orphanages. The second generation of the ministry has now begun. Covenants ministry to the orphan girls now enables them to reach out to other orphans just like themselves!

LAWN MINISTRY. Two years ago Northside Presbyterian Church in Melbourne, Florida, launched the Northside Lawn Ministry to help men who wanted to be free of their drug and alcohol addictions. The lawn ministry was a way to put to work men who had been discipled in prison and needed help returning to the outside world. The church located customers who were glad to participate in the ministry by having their yards maintained. The Lord soon sent the church a man who had been trained in a similar program and the Reformation House came into being—a place where the participants live and learn, while working. The men from Reformation House are incorporated into the church life, attending a small group during the week and worship on Sundays. Pastor Jim Whittle provides counseling and encouragement and correction when needed. God is working in way never envisioned when the Lawn Ministry was started. The program was sown in tears and reaped in joy.

MENTORING. Village Seven Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has joined with Faith Partners to help individuals and families in need of Christian mentoring. Faith Partners are trained to come alongside people struggling with poverty and family management issues. Church members are trained as teams and matched to coach a person or family in areas such as faith, career, budgeting, parenting, and life skills. Mentors devote two to four hours per month for one year. A mentor is described as: a teacher, guide, friend, role model, counselor, supporter, coach, advocate, and advisor.

ADOPT A MINISTRY for a year! Scherer Memorial Presbyterian Church in Lake Wylie, South Carolina, has found a way to share the work and permit each person to be involved in a ministry for which they feel suited and will find rewarding. Members "Adopt" one of the many ministries conducted by the church. Members look over the list of ministries and pick out one or more and resolve to support that ministry all through the year. As various needs arise during the "Adoption" year, the member is notified unless he or she is already involved. As in most churches, there is always a ministry suitable for every member of the body.

MISSIONS GIFT REPLACES CHRISTMAS CARDS. In a long-established practice at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania, each family places one Christmas card on the Missions Christmas Tree in the church. The card expresses greetings to all the other families in the church. Then they give to the church’s mission fund whatever amount of money they would have spent on cards and postage. Members are encouraged not to send cards to other members who they see frequently (except for shut-ins) but to provide extra support to the Missions Program.

BIBLIOPHILES. Summer readers in the Pioneer Club project at Christ Presbyterian Church in New Braunfels, Texas, are called "Bibliophiles." Students are encouraged to read classic children’s literature and are rewarded with various prizes for the accumulation of reading "points." Prizes include a "Pioneer Club Bibliophiles" T-shirt. The club’s theme verse, "…redeeming the time because the days are evil" (Ephesians 5:16), reflects the club goal of helping students to develop a Christian world and life view while using their summer hours wisely.
