Dr. Bryan Chappell

Dr. Bryan Chapell is President of Covenant Theological Seminary in St. Louis, the national seminary of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  Raised in Memphis, TN, Dr. Chapell pastored for approximately ten years before joining the faculty of Covenant Seminary in 1985.  In recent years he has served in leadership roles in various PCA endeavors and in cooperative ministries with numerous national and international Christian ministries.

Dr. Chapell has served as a preacher and lecturer in churches, colleges, and seminaries throughout this country and abroad.  He has also authored a number of books including: Praying Backwards; Holiness by Grace; I’ll Love You Anyways & Always; Each for the Other; The Wonder of It All; and Christ-centered Preaching, a preaching textbook now in multiple editions and languages throughout the world.

While pastoring his first church, Dr. Chapell met his wife, Kathy, who was the piano player.  She later completed a Masters degree in music, and has served as a choir director for many years.  Kathy now often serves churches as a singer, flute soloist and conference speaker.  The Chapells have four children (two boys and two girls).
